Scottish Church College
(A Christian Minority Institution) | Parent Body: Church of North India
Estd. 1830 | Affiliated to University of Calcutta
NAAC Re-Accredited Grade 'A' Institution (3rd Cycle)
It is indeed an honour for anyone to be part of a Heritage Institution like Scottish Church College. Founded in 1830 by Rev. Dr. Alexander Duff, the college aims to create intellectually sound and morally upright human beings to be of service to the nation.
Currently the college is at a crucial juncture facing challenges of the VUCA (Volatile Uncertain Complex and Ambiguous) world and of higher education both locally and globally. The college has initiated national and international linkages to expand its horizons to reach to greater global community and create opportunities for students to be effective graduates.
With the advent of the Pandemic situation the college has initiated a process of online learning and is preparing itself for a blended/ hybrid mode of learning in future.
Being an age-old heritage institution, the college is also facing challenges of maintaining its infrastructure and will reach out for fund raising from its alumni and well-wishers.
The college as part of continuous quality upgradation is on a yearly basis participating in NIRF ranking wherein the college stands amongst the first 150 colleges in the country. We are committed to take this ranking higher through continuous quality improvement initiatives.
The college aims to draft a five-year action plan to address quality improvement issues on a priority basis focussing on the principles of Service Learning and Whole Person Education.
With the active participation of our extremely talented pool of faculty and students, the college, with the blessings of the Almighty, will continue to serve society as it has been doing for last 192 years.
