Peace Studies Cell

"Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called Children of God"- Matthew 5:9

Human beings have made great progress in science and technology but have failed to engage in peace of mind, live in harmony in society, and create peace among nations; nor have they helped in decreasing poverty, ignorance, and exploitation. Climate change and global warming are direct consequences of destructive use of nature. This has threatened the very survival of the planet Earth. Humans have thus become victims of their own creation. In this scenario creation of a culture of peace is extremely important.

Scottish Church College has always been a feat of spreading the essence of harmony, peace and tolerance. The illustrious alumnae of the college like Swami Vivekananda and Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and others have spread the ideas of peace and brotherhood. Keeping up to the spirit the college has created a Peace Studies Cell which through its various programs aims at creating a culture of peace within the campus expanding further at creating a peaceful community which can transcend into state level, country level and finally at the global scenario. The Peace Studies Cell wants not only students but various stakeholders of the society to learn negotiating skills and conflict management to end violence that they face in various fronts. To keep the tradition of this along with the ethos of Christianity which propagates global peace and harmony Scottish Church College now formally embarks on a path of Peace Studies.
